Steven E. Thompson & Associates was established in 1997 with the specific intent of providing quality, sophisticated and affordable legal services to individuals and small businesses. Such clients are often Houstonians, but the Firm has represented clients from other Texas jurisdictions and clients living outside of Texas, often without ever meeting such non-Houstonians face-to-face. The Firm was founded by Steven E. Thompson.

Steven E. Thompson
Mr. Thompson graduated from Texas A & M University in 1982 with a degree in chemical engineering. In 1988, Mr. Thompson received his M.B.A. (Accounting and Taxation) from the University of Houston with honors. In 1992, Mr. Thompson received his law degree from South Texas College of Law, where he earned membership in Phi Delta Phi, the South Texas Law Review (Assistant Editor) and several American Jurisprudence Awards. Mr. Thompson practiced law with Bracewell & Patterson, LLP and Liddell, Sapp, Zivley, Hill & Laboon, LLP prior to starting his own firm. Mr. Thompson has a vision of what a lawyer's service to his client should be, and every firm client has been referred by another satisfied client.

Steve Williard
Steve Williard graduated from Shippensburg University of Pennslylvania with a degree in finance. Mr. Williard received his MBA from the University of Houston. Mr. Williard is a graduate of South Texas College of Law and went on to earn his LLM in taxation from the University of Houston. Mr Williard has also been a certified public accountant in Texas since 1989.Mr. Williard concentrates his practice in business transactions, tax planning and tax controversy. Mr. Williard also advises clients on Texas state and local taxations, including sales and use tax, franchise tax and property tax matters. Mr. Williard represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the United States Tax Courts. Mr. Williard is also an Adjunct Professor at South Texas College of Law.
